Pete holds degrees in Biology and Composite Science in Education from the University of Texas. He is a published author and one of only ten in the world to hold the Master Trainer Certification from Personality Insights in the Model of Human Behavior.
He is a fourth-generation professional educator and members of his family have taught in the State of Texas consecutively for over 100 years. He quickly learned to see his role not just as a science teacher, but more as a mentor who wanted his students to learn about leadership, character, and setting goals for their future. His positive influence in the classroom was displayed by numerous achievements and awards including:
- Nominated Teacher of the Year six times
- Three times recognized as an Outstanding Educator in the Nation
- Voted as the Funniest, Most Enthusiastic and Best Teacher at Kingwood High School
- He created a Mentor Program, and Student Leadership Class for tens of thousands of students with 42 schools in the Houston area.
- A GEAR UP Grant he was awarded impacted 7 school districts from 7th grade to 12th grade where he helped first time students go to college.
Pete’s love of his students and the passion he feels about positive attitude was learned from his father and propelled him to create a Leadership Camp for Youth in 1997 which he still operates today.
Pete continues to travel as a keynote speaker as a teaching and leadership expert for countless audiences. Pete’s expertise in Leadership Development has continued as the Director of Thought Leadership for a multi-billion-dollar company today. He also serves as Founder and President of the Omega Quest and Quest Leadership Dynamics.
Before Zig Ziglar passed away, he shared that Pete was an educator that was passing it on to the next generation. Zig wrote about Pete and his influence in his book “Better than Good”.
